Philippine Eagle at ZSL London Zoo

The Philippine eagle is evolutionarily distinct and globally endangered, an EDGE species highlighted and celebrated at Zoological Society of London (ZSL) London Zoo. London Zoo was the first known institution to keep a live specimen of the eagle in captivity.

At London Zoo, street artist Louis Masai has painted a large, colourful, patterned mural of the Philippine eagle.

A painting of the Monkey-Eating Eagle, painted by George Edward Lodge in 1944, hangs at the second floor of ZSL Library and Archives. The eagle is also featured in several books about raptors in the library.
